Location

Location is a significant factor to consider when you’re relocating to another community. This should be communicated within family members, especially for OFW families. Ask yourselves if you’re comfortable with living in the city or the suburbs or in a completely different city.

Where you’ll be living affects several other things like changing schools, jobs, and your address in several government IDs and documents. Location is also closely related to your safety and security. Is the property flood-free? Does the community have security guards or CCTV cameras around the neighborhood?

Since location is a big deal, schedule a site viewing with your whole family so that they can also get the feel of their future home.

Lifestyle

When you’re moving into a new community chances are, there’s going to be a new lifestyle or social norms that may come as a shock for you. What may seem as normal for them, might be unfamiliar or uncomfortable to you. Try to keep a level and open mind when some things don’t align with your beliefs.

Transportation

You may have to familiarize yourself with traffic rules, road shortcuts, and driver behavior when you’re thinking of driving yourself to and from work. If you’re thinking of commuting to work or for school, take into account the necessary vehicles such as buses, trains, or jeepneys going around the city. It helps to walk around so that you can get a grasp of how things work around your community.

Cost of Living

Location and cost of living go hand-in-hand. Each area, city, or province have their own standard of living. There’s usually abig difference. Especially if you’re moving upstate, consider a significant increase in general expenses.

Being able to provide a home and comfortable life for your family is a dream come true. Investing in a home is always worth the hard-work and long wait!
